(2022) It was our distinct honor for Mama Marion Streit-Dauer, lay missionary to Masaka and I, Abuna, Fr. Ron, to welcome Bishop Serverus Jjumba & Fr. Peter Paul Ssemakula to Buffalo at the end of July. Bishop Jjumba offered a Mission Appeal representing his Diocese of Masaka, Uganda, East Africa, at St. Gregory Parish in Williamsville. Fr. Peter Paul did so the same weekend on behalf of ROTA at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in Clarence. Their presence allowed me, Fr. Ron, to offer Mission Appeal on behalf of ROTA to friends at St. Matthias Parish in Clymer and St. Isaac Jogues Parish in Sheldon, NY. Bishop Jjumba
succeeded our good friend Bishop John Baptist Kaggwa who retired from Administration of Masaka Diocese in 2019 and during the COVID crisis tragically passed unexpectedly. We pray that Bishop Kaggwa's soul enjoy eternal peace in God. We pray for the success of all Missionaries sharing their stories of faith and of their appeals for support.
Bishop Jjumba had the pleasure of visiting Niagara Falls for the first time. He enjoyed our visit and our walk all around the New York State Park. The delightful day ended with a social gathering of our ROTA Board members with our guests at the residence of Denice and Adam Sumlin.
