(2022) Because of successful medical outreach to the community within the Masaka Diocese, the continued growing needs for medicines and medical supplies, as well as the developmental need for greater sustainability for future service, the Masaka Diocese Medical Services LTD has launched the final stages for completion of its four story office complex and its third expansion of its warehouse facility. The original vision was for a warehouse and offices that, with contractual agreements with the "Joint Medical Store, (JMS) in Kampala, would provide medicines, medical supplies and equipment to Diocesan and other medical clinics and hospitals in the Masaka region. This was accomplished and dedicated in 2012. Sustainability was then the concern. The secondary vision then consisted of an expansion of the warehouse and a bank of offices that would be rented out and assist with the sustainability costs of running the Masaka Diocese Medical Services unit. The ground floor was completed, dedicated and even occupied in early 2020. Work began on the additional floor in 2021 and now the desire is to complete the project with the designed and projected additions of two floors and the roof.
With a most generous non-interest loan from Masaka Diocese Benefactors in Missouri, substantial designated donations from a benefactor in Buffalo, and proceeds from the Diocese of Buffalo ROTA Mission Appeal, the projects moves forward toward completion. Congratulations to our mission partners in Masaka Diocese.
